Lunar Eclipse, August 28, 2007

 

Total lunar eclipse 28 August 2007 as seen from Cascade, CO at 03:56 UT on October 28 at 3:56 MT. The totality just has started. There is a meteor trace and some artificial objects: compare the stars on pict. 1 on the right. Picture #2 is made 6 min. after the first one. The fullest eclipse is on pict. #3. It shows the stars around the Moon. The picture #4 is a sequence of shots during the moonset (the last one made at 4.53) covering about 9 minutes.

Size of the original: 2000 x 1679 pixels; 10s exp. with Canon 1Ds Mark II with Canon Lens EF 50mm 1:1.2 L USM, ISO 500.
#1: Size of the original: 8061 x 3328 pixels; same lens & conditions.
Pictures #2 through #4 were made with Canon Lens EF 400mm 1:4 DO IS USM @ f:4.0 with exposure time 1 to 3s and ISO 3200.
