Venable and Goodwin Lakes
Venable Creek trail is 5 miles long to Venable Pass, moderate in difficulty. There is 2.5 miles to Venable Falls, and 3.5 miles to Lower Lakes. To the larger Venable Lakes it's 4.2 miles. There is a connection with Comanche, North Fork, and North Crestone Lake trails through Venable pass. Venable-Comanche trailhead is close to Alvarado Campground. It's a popular tourist destination as it's close to important trailheads, nice views and a good Alpine Lodge restaurant, about 15 min. from Westcliffe.
Goodwin Lake Trail is 5 miles long and starts also at the Venable-Comanche trailhead. Provides for a moderate hike from May to November, less used than Venable Creek trail.
